DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the city will be adding 170 police officers and requested new funding of $11 million. Just last year the city council voted to defund the police by $15 million. The mayor’s announcement comes after the city saw a 16-year high in their homicide rate and rising gun violence. Maybe liberal crime policy isn’t the best way to keep your citizens safe.

France’s new law would see people face up to 6 months in prison if they are unable to prove they are vaccinated or covid negative and up to a year in prison for establishments that do not test for COVID. The outrage is intense in france as police try to stop the rioting but sentiment for covid passports may soon find their way to the U.S. as well as many urban democrats seem to be in favor of some sort of restrictions on public accommodation without a “health pass”
