Those who are called “heroes”, namely the men whom our society establishes as universal reference figures, have changed their profile considerably over time. If these individuals are supposed to embody almost unsurpassable models, then one can legitimately wonder if the analysis of these would not be a relevant reading grid of the times in which we live. And that’s what I’d like you to think about in this video: What does the choice of these heroes reflect about our society and what it wants to exalt.

While the number of daily COVID cases in Western Europe are relatively low, streets of France, Germany and Italy are engulfed by anti-restrictions protesters. Reportedly one person in Germany died after yet another clash with the local police.
Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks about how urban gun violence is causing one Democrat Mayor to rethink the defund the police movement. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the city will be adding 170 police officers and requested new funding of $11 million. Just last year the city council voted to defund the police by $15 million. The mayor’s announcement comes after the city saw a 16-year high in their homicide rate and rising gun violence. Maybe liberal crime policy isn’t the best way to keep your citizens safe.

Lightfoot addresses the criticism she received for deciding to only grant interviews to journalists of color. There was enormous backlash to her racial discrimination, but she says she would do it again and it was important that she took a stand.
Christian evangelist Hatun Tash was stabbed today at Speakers’ Corner in London. Hatun is a vocal critic of Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran, as well as a prominent defender of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and she was wearing a Charlie Hebdo shirt when she was attacked.
